Problem:
The Reserve Health Readiness Program (RHRP) is a Department of Defense (DoD) program that provides medical and dental services to Active Duty and Reserve service members who are geographically remote from military treatment facilities. The program is in its third generation of contracts (RHRP-3). The RHRP helps supplement the reserve component’s readiness mission and satisfy key deployment requirements by ensuring that reserve service members meet the Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) and Deployment Health standards.
The RHRP is managed by the Defense Health Agency (DHA), which supports the nation by improving health and building readiness. The DHA works with the service components to deliver medical and dental services required to maintain a healthy and fit fighting force that is medically ready to deploy at any time.
Among the range of health services that the RHRP provides are:
- Periodic Health Assessment (PHA)
- Mental Health Assessment (MHA)
- Immunizations
- Laboratory services
- Audiology
- Vision screenings
- Pre-Deployment Assessment (Pre-DHA)
- Post-Deployment Health Reassessment (PDHRA)
- Dental Service Readiness Exam
- Dental Treatment
- Physical Exams
The RHRP delivers these services through three modalities:
Call Center: Service members can schedule services by calling the RHRP Call Center. Some services can be provided entirely through the Call Center, such as MHA and PDHRA.
In-Clinic: Service members can receive in-clinic appointments through a nationwide network of civilian medical and dental providers, typically within 50 miles of their home of record or workstation of choice.
Group Events: Service members can receive group event services through a health services partner, like Solvere Health. These partners deliver group event services within mobile medical unit facilities or other fixed medical facilities nearby, with the partner company providing all equipment, supplies and staff.
